The EW-DEC is a military system that serves as a configurable decoy emitting radar signals that resemble the characteristics and behaviour of real pulsed radio-electronic devices for deception in Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) domain.
The EW-DEC system supports wide range of mission objectives – from protection of own radar assets to training operators of EW systems. The system is capable of emitting user-configurable signals across a wide range of frequency bands.
The system‘s Multiple Transmitter Units (TXU) are optimized for an exceptional cost-to-performance ratio, making them well-suited for forward battlefield deployment in high-risk environments where loss of equipment must be anticipated.
The EW-DEC TXU is deployed nearby real radar assets on the battlefield. The TXU transmits waveforms resembling those of the accompanied radar, which leads to dispersion of adversary ISR, personnel, and destructive assets in time and space.
The EW-DEC system is used to actively deceive adversary forces. Multiple TXUs are deployed on the battlefield, synchronized in time through joint operation planning and remote control. The EW-DEC system task is to create a complex and dynamic scene in the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) domain to attract adversary ISR and Electronic Support Measures (ESM) assets and personnel, while masking real ongoing activities.
The EW-DEC system is used to train ground, naval, and air forces, or to test ESM platforms and equipment. TXUs are deployed in the test range according to train mission needs, transmit the desired signals, and are controlled from a remote common control terminal. The goal is simulation of complex artificial Electronic Order of Battle (EOB) in EMS.
The EW-DEC system can be used to create an artificial EOB in the ESM domain for the purpose of red force radar asset emulation during force-on-force exercises. The system is loaded with adversary radar profiles and deployed in the theatre of operations according to mission needs.
