ERA has been awarded a new contract to provide modernization of MSS-A RIX system for cooperative targets surveillance at Riga International airport
ERA is about to upgrade and thus make more efficient its previously installed Multilateration System for surface surveillance of air traffic at Riga International Airport in the Latvian capital. The contract was signed today by ERA CEO Ondřej Chlost, ERA Commercial Director Jakub Thomas, and Members of the Management Board of LGS, Mr. Aivars Pūcītis and Mr. Dins Merirands, as part of a ceremony held at LGS headquarters in the Latvia’s capital - Riga.
The ERA Multilateration System at Riga International Airport has been responsible for detection and identification of air and ground cooperative targets. The Latvian Air Navigation Service Provider, Latvijas gaisa satiksme (LGS), has put its trust in ERA technology for almost 20 years.
According to detailed contract specifications, ERA will upgrade part of Multi-sensor Surveillance System (MSS) to the NEO generation in order to unify the airport system deployment and upgrade the processing part (Central Processing Station) with the newest version of the hardware and sophisticated software, which guarantee the best functionalities available.
“The ERA system providing Riga Airport coverage proved to be a very reliable ATC solution. This award is a sign of the long-term relationship between LGS and ERA,” stated ERA CEO Ondřej Chlost after the signing ceremony.
"I would like to note the almost twenty-year-long and successful cooperation between LGS and ERA, which has resulted in several jointly implemented projects. Now it is time to modernize the equipment installed in 2006, and I am confident that also this time the work will be completed on time and to a high standard, further improving flight safety," emphasizes Member of the Board of LGS Aivars Pūcītis.
