ERA has strengthened its presence in South America. It will deliver ADS-B system to Colombia, its 73rd country
ERA has announced that it had been awarded a contract to deliver an ADS-B surveillance system to help with Air Traffic Control at the Palonegro International Airport located in the city of Bucaramanga, 200 km to the north of the Colombian capital Bogotá. ERA is proud to add Colombia as the 73rd country to the list of partners using ERA technologies and thus begin to penetrate yet another continent.
In accordance with the bid specifications, ERA will supply the MSS-5-D Standard Stand-Alone Station, a derivate product of its surveillance system MSS-5 (the latest generation of Multilateration Surveillance System). It was ordered by the end user - the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia, Colombian ANSP. ERA cooperates with the local company DAVCOM SAS from Bogotá, which is the first entity entitled to sell ADS-B technology in Colombia.
“Colombia is our third reference country in South America after Chile and Peru. We are happy to cooperate on the project with DAVCOM SAS company,” stated Ondřej Chlost, ERA Managing Director.
“I have known ERA company for 10 years since I met their experts at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, Spain. For me, ERA is one of the best suppliers of MLAT and ADS-B surveillance systems worldwide,” stated Jose Fermin Niño Galeano from DAVCOM SAS.
Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) technology is the fastest developing element of contemporary ATM globally and the ERA solution of Stand-Alone ADS-B Ground Station is light weight, easy to install and a user-friendly solution for any ATC/ATM centre. The ADS-B Ground System is designed to receive and process ADS-B surveillance data, such as aircraft position, altitude, velocity, identification, etc. obtained from aircraft onboard systems. The purpose is to provide surveillance data for Air Traffic Control.
The ADS-B station is able to provide reliable real-time location and identification of all aircraft and other objects equipped with an ADS-B functionality. It is a ready-to-use solution, allowing the customer to deploy it independently in a simple “plug and play” manner. The system will be supplied by ERA, installed, operated and maintained easily by the customer.
